Mumbai, October 26: Amid widespread speculation that the Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana could be discontinued, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has issued a clarification, saying that the popular women’s welfare scheme will not be stopped. Ladki Bahin Yojana To Be Stopped?

The Ladki Bahin Yojana, launched to provide financial assistance of INR 1,500 per month to women from families earning less than INR 2.5 lakh annually, has benefited thousands across Maharashtra. CM Fadnavis dismissed these claims, asserting that the government will not shut down any welfare program it has initiated. “As long as Devbhau, Shinde Saheb, and Ajit Dada are there, the Ladki Bahin Yojana will not be closed,” he said. He assured that beneficiaries would continue receiving their monthly assistance, including the October 2025 installment, and reiterated his government’s commitment to women’s financial empowerment.
