The victim, identified as Jitendra, was found dead in a blood-soaked condition on September 7 along a deserted stretch near the HPCL refinery on the road leading toward Bhadawas. According to the police, the primary accused, Praveen alias Papla, orchestrated the attack after suspecting Jitendra of having an illicit relationship with his wife. On the day of the incident, Praveen allegedly invited Jitendra to join him for drinks. After visiting a local liquor shop, the duo went to a canal bridge before driving toward the deserted refinery road alongside Praveen's nephew, Aman. Investigators stated that once Jitendra stepped out of the vehicle, Praveen repeatedly struck him on the head with an iron rod while Aman kept watch. The assault was captured on a nearby CCTV camera, providing critical technical evidence for the investigation.
Following a complaint from the victim's family, police launched an inquiry under the direction of Superintendent of Police Hemendra Kumar Meena. Praveen and Aman were subsequently detained and confessed to the crime during interrogation, according to Additional Superintendent of Police Deepika Agrawal. A local court has remanded both accused into police custody for three days. Authorities are currently working to recover the murder weapon and the vehicle used in the crime.
