'Thinking of Doing Something Different Today': Ghaziabad NEET Aspirant Dies by Suicide 2 Days Before NEET UG Re-Exam
A 22-year-old medical aspirant preparing for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) allegedly died by suicide at his residence in Ghaziabad's Pratap Vihar on Friday, police said. The incident occurred just two days before the scheduled NEET re-examination on June 21.

The incident occurred just two days before the scheduled NEET re-examination on June 21. The deceased, identified as Jatin Kumar, was a resident of H-Block in Vijay Nagar. According to his family, Jatin was seen studying and walking around his room until midnight on Thursday. His body was discovered on Friday morning when family members went to wake him up.
A team from the Vijay Nagar police station and forensic experts inspected the scene. Investigators reported finding a broken noose tied to the ceiling fan, while Jatin's body was lying on the floor. During the search, police recovered a one-minute-and-four-second video from Jatin’s mobile phone, recorded moments before his death. According to authorities, Jatin explicitly stated in the recording that he was not under any academic stress or mental pressure regarding the upcoming NEET examination. He further mentioned that his father had advised him to remain calm and not feel tense about the test. In the final moments of the video, Jatin expressed a desire to succeed in the entrance exam, adding that if he cleared it, people would watch his video. Jatin was the only son of the family. Assistant Commissioner of Police (Kotwali Nagar) Upasana Pandey confirmed that the mobile video has been secured and is currently undergoing forensic examination. The body has been sent for a postmortem examination as police continue to investigate all potential angles surrounding the death.
