Tense scenes unfolded outside the Katara Hills residence of Giribala Singh, mother-in-law of deceased woman Twisha Sharma, on Friday, May 22, as her lawyer got into a heated exchange with journalists amid the ongoing probe into Sharma’s death.

Advocate Enosh George, appearing on behalf of Singh, had visited the residence amid heavy media presence. While George initially responded calmly, the situation took a turn when the vehicle he was attempting to board allegedly ran over his foot. Visibly distressed and in pain, he struck the bonnet of the vehicle and accused members of the media of putting his life at risk.

On being asked if he was planning to file a reply before the court, George responded, “Humare jawab dene se kya hoga” (“What difference will our reply make?”) Videos from outside the residence showed a crowd of journalists and local residents gathered near the property as police continued monitoring the situation.

Twisha Sharma was found hanging at her marital home in Bhopal’s Katara Hills area on May 12. The family of the 33-year-old model turned actor accused her in-laws of pushing their daughter to death. Her in-laws, however, claim she was addicted to drugs.

Following Twisha’s death, the Bhopal police registered an FIR under BNS sections concerning dowry death, cruelty by husband or his relatives, and common intention. The FIR names her husband Samarth Singh and mother-in-law Giribala Singh.

Police officials have not yet publicly commented on the altercation involving George outside the residence. The investigation into Sharma’s death remains ongoing, with statements from both families being examined as part of the probe.
