In a post on X, Kejriwal congratulated the women of Punjab and said the promised assistance would soon be credited to their bank accounts. According to the announcement, women from the general category will receive INR 3,000, while women belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC) communities will receive INR 4,500, covering three months of payments.

"Heartiest congratulations to all the mothers, sisters and daughters of Punjab. On July 1, three months' money will be credited to their accounts all at once. Every woman from the general category will receive INR 3,000, and every woman from the SC category will receive INR 4,500," Kejriwal wrote. The former Delhi Chief Minister described the initiative as the "world's largest women's empowerment program." He also clarified that if more than one eligible woman lives in a family, each woman would receive the benefit separately.
The announcement follows Kejriwal's March 8 declaration that women in Punjab would receive monthly financial assistance under the AAP government's welfare scheme. Under the programme, women from the general category are entitled to INR 1,000 per month, while women from SC communities are eligible for INR 1,500 per month. The development comes shortly after Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema presented the state's fifth budget and highlighted the government's focus on welfare measures for various sections of society.
Kejriwal reiterated that the Punjab government was fulfilling its commitments and would continue to deliver on its promises aimed at women's welfare and empowerment.
