Mumbai, October 2: Days after unveiling 125 names in its first list of candidates for the upcoming Maharashtra assembly elections 2019, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday named 14 more candidates in its second list. The seats from where the MLA aspirants has been revealed by the saffron party are: Sakri, Dhamangaon Railway, Melghat, Gondia, Aheri, Pusad, Umarkhed, Baglan, Ulhas Nagar, Baramati, Maval, Kaij, Latur City and Udgir. BJP First List of Candidates For Maharashtra Assembly Elections 2019 Out, Devendra Fadnavis to Contest From Nagpur South West.

With this list, the BJP has so far named 139 candidates for the upcoming assembly polls. The party is contesting in an alliance with the Shiv Sena, but the two parties have not yet revealed the seat-sharing ratio between them. A clearer picture is expected to emerge in less than 48 hours, as Thursday is the final day for the filing of nominations.

Polls across the 288 assembly segments of the state will be held in a single-phase on October 21. The Election Commission is expected to declare the final results on October 24, when it has scheduled the counting of votes.

In run-up to the elections, psephologists have given edge to the incumbent ruling coalition of BJP-Sena. The alliance, according to an ABP News-CVoter opinion poll, is predicted to win 205 constituencies. In 2014, the two parties had contested separately and inked a post-poll pact after the elections to dislodge the 15-year-old government of Congress-NCP combine.
