Muzaffarpur is one of the 40 Lok Sabha constituencies of Bihar. The voting for the parliamentary polls 2019 on this seat will take place in the fifth phase on May 6.

The results of Muzaffarpur Lok Sabha constituency has been declared today by the Election Commission of India. Ajay Nishad of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has been named the winner. The seat went to polls in phase 5 of the general elections 2019, held on May 6. 68 per cent voter turnout was recorded in the constituency. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has fielded sitting MP Ajay Nishad from Muzaffarpur Lok Sabha constituency. Meanwhile, the Mahagathbandhan's Vikassheel Insan Party (VIP) has given a ticket to Kulbhushan Nishad Choudhary from here. The last date of filing nominations for the seat was April 18. The scrutiny of nominations papers took place on April 20. In 2014 elections also, BJP candidate Nishad had won from  Sitamarhi Lok Sabha Constituency defeating Congress candidate Akhilesh Prasad Singh with a margin of over two lakh votes. In 2009 elections, Jai Narain Prasad Nishad had won the seat on the JDU ticket.

The Election Commission of India on March 10 announced the dates for the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. The general elections will take place in seven phases between April 11 and May 19, and the results will be declared on May 23. Along with Lok Sabha Elections, voting will also take place in this phase for Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim and Odisha Assembly Elections 2019.
