The victim, identified as Malti Verma, was reportedly subjected to digital blackmail, leading to her untimely death. The cybercriminals contacted Malti, falsely claiming that her daughter had been caught in a sex scandal. They demanded INR 1 lakh and threatened to leak a video of her daughter if she failed to pay the amount immediately. Shocked and terrified by the threat of her daughter's defamation, Malti Verma collapsed from a heart attack.
