Relatives of the deceased allege that the operation was carried out by a colleague in the absence of the attending doctor, leading to the unfortunate deaths. The incident took place at DD Mandal Hospital. Following the tragedy, the hospital management reportedly acted in a highly inappropriate manner. According to the source, the deceased newborn was placed in a carton and discarded in the hospital's basement, sparking outrage among the relatives and the local community. BK Singh, the in-charge of Digha police station, stated, "In DD Mandal hospital, a man lost his wife while she was undergoing treatment for childbirth.
