A day after US President Joe Biden withdrew from the 2024 presidential race against Donald Trump, a Time magazine cover featuring Vice President Kamala Harris went viral. The magazine's earlier cover, published digitally on June 28, showed Biden walking away with "Panic" written on it following the first presidential debate. In contrast, the new cover, released on July 21, depicts Harris walking in, symbolising her endorsement by Biden. On Sunday, President Biden announced his decision to end his re-election bid, stating it was in the best interest of his party and the country.
