Ravichandran Ashwin shared an insight into what led to Mohammad Rizwan's 'bizarre' run out during the Pakistan vs Nepal match in the Asia Cup 2023 tournament on Wednesday, August 30. The ace all-rounder, who was closely observing the game, felt that Rizwan did not dive just like he is seen doing at other times, because he was not wearing a helmet. The Pakistan wicketkeeper-batter was run out at the non-striker's end from a direct hit by Nepal's Dipendra Singh Airee. Rizwan had tried to protect himself from the throw instead of diving to ground his bat. Ashwin took to X, formerly Twitter to share his thoughts on this dismissal. The height of the throw made it harder to evade for Rizwan but for someone who generally dives to make his ground all the time while running between the wickets, this is a rare instance of him ducking for cover and the only reason is that he isn’t wearing his helmet.
