Wanindu Hasaranga's injury has forced him to sit out the Asia Cup 2023 and the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup 2023. He is unlikely to make a comeback in this competition as he is still going through his rehabilitation programme.
Sri Lanka star all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga suffered a grade 3 hamstring tear during the Lankan Premier League (LPL) and since then was out of action. He amassed the most runs and wickets in the LPL T20 competition, scoring 279 runs and taking 19 wickets. Recently, the all-round leg-spinner underwent a successful surgery and is currently recovering. He took to the social media platform, X, and shared a picture of him from the hospital bed to assure everyone that he is fine and recovering well.
