The Sri Lanka national cricket team registered a comfortable win by six wickets against the Bangladesh national cricket team. With this victory, the Litton Das-led Bangladesh suffered their first defeat in the Asia Cup 2025, whereas Charith Asalanka's Sri Lanka started their campaign on a winning note. Now Bangladesh have to beat Afghanistan to stay in contention to progress to the next round. Earlier in the match, Bangladesh were restricted to 139 runs. Wanindu Hasaranga took wickets for Sri Lanka. In response, opener Pathum Nissanka scored a match-winning knock of 50 runs that guided his side to chase down a 140-run target in 14.4 overs.
