It was a brilliant day for Team India as they crossed the 300-run mark on the opening day of the second Test against England. The Ben Stokes-led side will also be the happier side at stumps on Day 1 as they dismissed five Indian batters after opting to bowl first. However, the day belonged to the Indian skipper Shubman Gill, who showcased his class with another century. Gill's unbeaten 114, followed by opener Yashasvi Jaiswal's fighting knock, has helped India to reach 310/5 in 85 overs.
