Out! That's the end of England. Brydon Carse goes for the expansive shot and top edges it which flies into the hands of captain Shubman Gill at extra cover. A fitting end to a fantastic Test match where India have dominated in all departments. Despite being worried about the bowling Mohammed Siraj and Akash Deep stepped up in respective innings both taking six-wicket haul each. Memorable Test match for Shubman Gill who scored 430 runs across both innings. This is the first win for India at Edgbaston.

Out! India's body language is at their peak. Sensational catch from Mohammed Siraj and Josh Tongue's resistance comes to an end. Ravindra Jadeja tried to land the ball on the rough, Tongue went for the shot, it went a little high and Mohammed Siraj at short mid-wicket jumped to his right to grab a stunning low catch. India are one wicket away from a historic victory. Tongue c Siraj b Jadeja 2(29).

Out! England's final resistance comes to an end. Jamie Smith has been batting brilliantly and he decided to take on Akash Deep on the onside despite the legside packed with fielders. Nailed for two sixes, went for the third but Akash Deep bowled a change of pace which made him go through the shot earlier. The deep fielder ran in to take the catch and Smith has to depart after playing two brilliant knocks. Jamie Smith c Washington Sundar b Akash Deep 88(99).

06 Jul, 20:28 (IST)

Out! Another one falls. Poor from Chris Woakes. Prasidh Krishna bowled back of length. Woakes struggled to manage the bounce as it was too close to his body but still tried to play a short arm jab. Gets a top edge which lobs up to Mohammed Siraj at short mid-wicket. India needs three wickets to win now. Woakes c Siraj b Prasidh 7(32).

06 Jul, 20:10 (IST)

England has been thrown out of the game by India as they are six down now and still have more than 400 runs to win and two sessions to survive if they search for a draw. Jamie Smith keeps the resistance going on for them as he did in the first innings. Scores a half-century and delays India's win.

06 Jul, 19:05 (IST)

Out! Body blow for England and India enter the tail as they see the back of England captain Ben Stokes. Washington Sundar was getting the drift and this time he makes Ben Stokes play one with his pad behing the bat and the ball brushes off his pads before hitting the bat. Adjudged out immediately on-field and the DRS couldn't save him. England in deep trouble. Stokes lbw b Washington Sundar 33(73).

England currently have no option but to continue resistance. They have lost half their side and the win has faded away from the picture. They will have to bat time here and hope they survive for the remainder of the day to end the Test in a draw. India are on the up here and they will want to close down the game soon.

06 Jul, 17:39 (IST)

Out! Akash Deep on a roll here. He has made the new ball talk once again. Set up Harry Brook by bowling outside off and then made one skid back from length outside off with Brook across the off-stump. He was hit flush on the pads and the on-field umpire raised the finger. Brook opted for DRS but it was umpires call on hitting. It has been a memorable game for Akash Deep. Brook lbw b Akash Deep 23(31).

06 Jul, 17:25 (IST)

Out! It is once again Akash Deep who strikes. Despite changing the ends they did well in last day, Akash Deep struck in first ball of his second over. Nailed the length, got the ball to bounce more and it hit Ollie Pope's hands before crashing to the stumps. India land an early blow. England are looking at the abyss now. Pope b Akash Deep 24(50).

A lot of good news coming together. Although the rain returned in the middle it was for a short while, It has now completely stopped and the covers have come off. Stumps have been placed as well. 06 Jul, 16:30 (IST)

Bad news for fans. The dark clouds have come in again, the rain has started and the umbrellas go up. The covers are back and in place. Frustrating for the players and fans as the rain returns to extend the delay. We will be starting to lose overs soon.

06 Jul, 16:14 (IST)

The sky is clearing up. The outfield has puddles and it will take some work to make it ready for action. Expectedly it will take an hour and so Umpires are expected to take early lunch and then start half an hour after it. Will extend play at the backend too. Umpires will inspect the conditions on 4:15 PM Indian Standard Time (IST).

06 Jul, 16:05 (IST)

Good news for the fans. The rain has stopped and the covers have started coming off, It has brightended up a lot as well.  The groundstaff will now try to drain the water and dry the outfield. The super soppers are already in work.

06 Jul, 15:50 (IST)

The heavy rain has toned out a bit and some work has started around the covers. They are still on as the rain is now a mere drizzle. But the sky has gotten a little brighter instilling hopes that the rain will stop soon.

It is pelting down at Edgbaston ahead of the start of Day 5's play in the India vs England second Test. The pitch is under cover although the outfield is taking a beating. The drainage is pretty good and it is expected that if the rain stops, the action can start soon. But the first session is under danger of getting washed out.
