Stumps! End of the Day 1's play and once again India are at the top. This time India batted first and West Indies could barely put them in trouble. KL Rahul was unlucky to be dismissed and then first Yashasvi Jaiswal and then Sai Sudharsan put India in a position of control. They stitched a 193-run partnership before Sudharsan was dismissed. Shubman Gill is on the crease and unbeaten alongside Yashasvi Jaiswal, who is aiming for a double century.

10 Oct, 16:50 (IST)

Shubman Gill has found his anchors in the crease and has started to open up with time. He has provided solidity alongside Yashasvi Jaiswal, who is in a great touch and is advancing gradually towards a double century. India are dominating the proceedings and they will continue to do it in the rest of the game.

10 Oct, 16:10 (IST)

Yashasvi Jaiswal carries on his good form as he extends his century longer and reaches 150. Jaiswal is aiming at a mammoth total and a double century and he will know that he could do it with West Indies not threatening much with their bowling. India are in a position of authority and they will look to extend their stay over the position.

10 Oct, 15:44 (IST)

Shubman Gill has played the first 21 balls of his innings with authority and is looking to take the time to settle on the crease aiming for a big score and a big partnership alongside Yashasvi Jaiswal. India are in a strong position here.

10 Oct, 15:23 (IST)

Out! The massive stand of 193 run comes to an end. Sai Sudharsan is trapped LBW by Jomel Warrican and he misses out on his century. The ball pitched on off and turned sharply, hitting Sudharsan on the backleg. He opted for the DRS and replay showed three reds. Disappointing end to the innings after hall the hard work Sudharsan has done, but he did put India on the driver's seat with his innings. Sai Sudharsan lbw b Warrican 87(165).

10 Oct, 15:01 (IST)

The scoring rate has picked up for India in these few overs of play, with both batters now looking to cash in on the tired bowlers. Sai Sudharsan, who survived on 58 after having his catch dropped, is 17 runs away from reaching his historic maiden Test ton.

India are in the driver's seat with Yashasvi Jaiswal leading the charge with a century, while Sai Sudharsan has managed to sneak in his half-century on Day 1 of the ongoing IND vs WI 2nd Test 2025. India are sitting on 220 for 1 at Tea Break, with Sudarshan looking set to achieve his maiden Test and international century, while Jaiswal will look for his second double-ton.

10 Oct, 14:05 (IST)

With just a few overs away from tea, both Indian batters are looking to survive the remaining session. Sai Sudharsan has a great chance to reach his maiden Test and international hundred, having scored three half-centuries for India. Yashasvi Jaiswal, on the other hand, will be eager to convert this ton into a daddy innings.

10 Oct, 13:39 (IST)

100! Finally, Yashasvi Jaiswal nonchalantly gets to the three-figure mark.  Jaiswal took 145 balls to achieve his hundred, which included 16 fours and no sixes. This is Jaiswal's third Test century in India, and his first against the Windies, having struck his maiden ton in 2023 at Roseau.

10 Oct, 13:12 (IST)

FIFTY! Sai Sudharsan reaches his second-ever half-century in Tests in style. Sudharsan has played flawless cricket, taking 89 balls to reach his fifty, which was laced with nine fours. Sudharsan and Yashasvi Jaiswal have added 117 runs in 165 balls for the second wicket already.

10 Oct, 12:44 (IST)

The post-lunch play has been all about India, where both Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sai Sudharshan have been looting the Windies bowlers for runs. Sai Sudharsan is nearing his second Test half-century as West Indies have opted to bowl spinners from both ends.

10 Oct, 12:17 (IST)

FIFTY! This has been a gritty knock from Yashasvi Jaiswal, who has only played his aggressive cricket when opportunity arises. Jaiswal reaches his 13th Test half-century in 82 balls, which has been laced with 10 fours. The young opener will want to convert this start into a massive ton, having missed out at Ahmedabad.

10 Oct, 11:36 (IST)

LUNCH! The first session has belonged to India, with KL Rahul, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Sai Sudharshan contributing with runs. Rahul scored 38 before getting out off Jomel Warrican, while Yashasvi Jaiswal is unbeaten on 40 and nearing his 13th fifty at lunch on Day 1. West Indies will be content with bowlers not letting Indian openers get off to a flier.

10 Oct, 11:04 (IST)

OUT! West Indies vice captain Jomel Warrican has managed to strike in his very first over as KL Rahul departs for 38. Rahul looked to take the aerial route, only to find himself stumped out after the ball sharply turns away, leaving the batter stranded outside his crease, for an easy dismissal by wicket-keeper.  KL Rahul st Tevin Imlach b Warrican 38(54)

10 Oct, 10:57 (IST)

FIFTY! This has been a tough first session for India, with KL Rahul and Yashasvi Jaiswal struggling to score runs. Both batters took 94 balls to notch up 50-run stand, where Rahul has done most of the scoring, adding 31 runs to the scoreboard.

10 Oct, 10:42 (IST)

After a flurry of boundaries, both KL Rahul and Yashasvi Jaiswal have been contained well by both Anderson Phillip and Justin Greaves. Phillips and Greaves have played on Rahul and Jaiswal's patience, bowling probing lines, while both batters have been waiting to cut loose.

10 Oct, 10:13 (IST)

West Indies have come closer to claiming wickets of both KL Rahul and Yashasvi Jaiswal in the past few overs, with both Anserson Phillip and Jayden Seales coming close to wickets of both batters. Jaiswal, in particular, has looked caged in his 21-ball stay in the middle, with West Indies catching hold of the star opener this series.

10 Oct, 09:52 (IST)

This is just the start, West Indies would have hoped for, with India's openers KL Rahul and Yashasvi Jaiswal giving their side a rather subdued start. India's first boundary came in the second-last ball of the fourth over, with Rahul hitting Anderson Phillip towards fine leg for a four. Both Phillip and Jayden Seales have been on the money thus far, barely givning Indian batters an inch.

10 Oct, 09:36 (IST)

India, as usual, opened with KL Rahul and Yashasvi Jaiswal, with the latter still searching for runs in the format. Rahul will be hopeful of carrying his good form and registering yet another Test ton. West Indies will hope Jayden Seales and other new-ball bowlers manage to make early inroads and utilise the early morning conditions quite well.
