Read below to check India National Cricket Team vs West Indies National Cricket Team match scorecard, live score updates and live commentary.
Stumps! West Indies batters walk off the field with no further damage and India continue to be on the top after the first two days. They added 200 runs to their Day 1 total and declared at the score of 518/5. Shubman Gill scored another century. West Indies batted better than the last Test but they have been unfortunate on occasions to be 140/4 at the end of Day 2. They will need a miraculous batting performance to push this game further deep.Â
India have scalped three wickets of West Indies in quick succession and are looking to double down on the batters with spinners Washington Sundar and Ravindra Jadeja. They have dismissed both set batters Tagenarine Chanderpaul and Alick Athanaze and now looking to create pressure on Tevin Imloch and Shai Hope.Â
Out! Wheels are coming off for West Indies despite a positive start. Ravindra Jadeja drifts one in on the stumps. New batter Roston Chase aimed to drive the ball but didn't get everything right and just lobbed the ball back to the hands of bowler Ravindra Jadeja. Third wicket in quick succession and India are on top here. Roston Chase c and b Jadeja 0(7).
Out! Alick Athanaze departs and India have scalped the wicket of two set batters of West Indies in quick succession. Tossed up delivery on off, Athanaze gets sucked into the slog sweep but the ball dips to make him mistime the ball straight into the hands of the mid-wicket fielder. Kuldeep Yadav is the bowler and he once again foxes another batter with his guile. Athanaze c Jadeja b Kuldeep Yadav 41(84).
Out! Tagenarine Chanderpaul is out and there is breach in the solid resistance from West Indies. Ravindra Jadeja is the one to give the breakthrough. It was a shorter length ball from Jadeja to Chanderpaul who undecisively prodded at the ball and it took a nick on the way to the hands of the slip fielder KL Rahul. Rahul grabbed the catch after two juggles. Chanderpaul was playing well and his wicket will be a blow to West Indies. Chanderpaul c Rahul b Jadeja 34(67).
Against a mammoth total set up by India, the West Indies batters can all but spend time at the crease aiming to take the game as deep as possible. John Campbell and Tagenarine Chanderpaul started in the same way and after Campbell was dismissed, Alick Athanaze cam in with the same mindset. It is a game of patience and West Indies know it.Â
Suddenly, the floodgates have opened for the West Indies as both batters have started to play their shots and not bog down against Indian spinners. Alick Athanaze, who starred in Ahmedabad in the second innings, continues to play with confidence, which might be the need of the hour for the visitors.Â
Back for the final session of play on Day 2 of IND vs WI 2nd Test 2025 at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. India will hope to get as many wickets as possible this the post-tea session and peg West Indies back as much as possible in the contest. India have opted to start with spin from both ends as Washington Sundar and Kuldeep Yadav come into their spells.Â
TEA! So this session has also gone India's way, which for a while looked to be pocketed by West Indies openers, who started cautiously. However, a freak catch by Sai Sudharshan, put breaks on John Campbell's innings on 10, handing Ravindra Jadeja his first wicket of the match.
OUT! The wicket completely belongs to Sai Sudharshan, who grabs a stunning catch out of nowhere, leaving John Campbell surprised. Ravindra Jadeja, in his first over itself produces a result, as is the case often for the veteran all-rounder. Sudharshan, who ducked to save himself, found the ball in his hand, which was sheer unlucky. John Campbell c Sai Sudharsan b Jadeja 10(25)
Yet another cautious start from West Indies openers as both Tagenarine Chanderpaul and John Campbell look to survive the opening spell by Indian pacers. Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj have been on point so far, with the latter coming close to getting a wicket in the fourth over.Â
A short break, and the players come out in the middle with John Campbell and Tagenarine Chanderpaul opening for West Indies. Both batters will hope for a better outing than Ahmedabad, where the openers failed miserably. A tidy over to begin with for Jasprit Bumrah, who starts with a maiden over. Shubman Gill has not taken the field yet.Â
And, India have declared their first innings on 518/5, with captain Shubman Gill still unbeaten on 129 off 196 balls. Day 2 started on the wrong note for India with Yashasvi Jaiswal getting run out on 175; however, Gill, Nitish Kumar Reddy, and Dhruv Jurel continued to pile on runs for the home side against a hapless opposition. Reddy and Jurel missed out half-centuries, but scored quick runs as per the demands of the match. Jomel Warrican and Roston Chase were the wicket-taker for West Indies on Day 2.Â
OUT! Dhruv Jurel looked to up the ante, and finds himself bowled for 44 off 79. Jurel missed a flatter ball from Roston Chase, who managed to take his first wicket in his 18th over, as the Indian wicketkeeper missed his half-century by six runs.Â
India have crossed the 500-run mark and West Indies is almost out of the contest in the ongoing IND vs WI 2nd Test 2025. After Shubman Gill reached his 100, the flow of runs have drastically improved, with both batters looking to score quick runs. Gill and Dhruv Jurel's stand for the fifth reached has also crossed 100 runs.Â
100! Century for Shubman Gill, his maiden as Test captain on Indian conditions. This has been a chanceless knock, Gill, who has reached his 10th Test hundred in 177 balls, laced with 13 fours and a solitary six. This was Gill's fifth century in India, and his first Test ton against the West Indies national cricket team.
India's journey to 500 has crossed the 450-run mark, with still six wickets in hand, with Shubman Gill and Dhruv Jurel batting in the middle. Gill has moved to the late 80s and will eagerly eye his 10th Test ton, which will also be his maiden international hundred at home after becoming Test captain.Â
Welcome back for the second session on Day 2, with India eying more runs, as captain Shubman Gill nears his 10th Test ton. This will also be Gill's first Test ton in front of a home crowd as captain, which overall will be the cricketer's fifth in Indian conditions. Dhruv Jurel, too, will look to get amongst the runs.Â
LUNCH! The first session of play on Day 2 has been quite riveting, with India's batters scoring runs at will, and West Indies bowlers in parts, making life difficult for Shubman Gill and Co. India started poorly, losing Yashasvi Jaiswal on 175 due to a run-out, but Gill and Nitish Kumar Reddy held fort, and took the hosts past 400. Gill will look to reach his 10th Test ton in the post-lunch session.Â
OUT! Jomel Warrican finally gets his reward, as Nitish Kumar Reddy departs for 43, missing out on his half-century by seven runs. Kumar, in the past few overs, looked to up the ante, but perished in an attempt to hit over the long-on region. The ball found the top edge of the bat and went higher than long, where Jayden Seales pouched a simple catch. Nitish Reddy c Jayden Seales b Warrican 43(54)
Having won his first toss as India's Test captain, Gill opted to bat first, a decision that was proven right by the likes of KL Rahul, Jaiswal, and Sai Sudharshan. Rahul added 38 runs, having given India a solid start, after which Jaiswal and Sudharshan stitched a 197-run stand, as the former scored his seventh ton, and the latter slammed his second half-century. Sudharan missed out on his maiden Test and international ton by 13 runs; however, Jaiswal, unfazed, is nearing his third double hundred, ending Day 1 on 173* along with captain Gill, unbeaten on 20.
Both the successes for the West Indies came from vice-captain Jomel Warrican, who found turn and grip in his deliveries, dismissing Rahul and Sudharshan, respectively.
