WI-W Win by 9 Wickets | India Women vs West Indies Women Highlights of 2nd T20I 2024: Hayley Matthews, Qiana Joseph Power Visitors to Dominating Victory

That's it. What a dominating victory and it came in just 15.4 overs with nine wickets remaining. The Carribean batters just toyed with the Indian bowlers and cruised to the target in no time. Hayley Matthews led the charge while the start came from Qiana Joseph. The bowlers also did a good job restricting India to a mediocre total considering dew came later on. They will enter the deciding game with confidence. 

West Indies are really cruising to the target. The dew has made it things a bit easier for the West Indies batters and the Indian bowlers had not been able to trouble them at all. Hayley Matthews missed out in the first match and this time she has the game by the scruff of the neck. Amid that, she has also completed her half-century. 

Shemaine Campbelle and Hayley Matthews have looked comfortable on the crease and they have targeted Titas Sadhu once again. The run rate is well under control and if these two stay for five more overs, the visitors will cruise to the target. The challenge for Smriti Mandhana will be to force a wicket here. 

Out! Huge wicket for India and it came from the hard work of Saima Thakor. She mixed up her variations well and calling Richa Ghosh upto the stumps worked well. Joseph took on one of the change ups and skied it. Richa took a comfortable catch. Qiana Joseph c Richa Ghosh b Saima Thakor 38(22).

Terrific powerplay for West Indies. They hit out Titas Sadhu off the attack and Sajeevan Sajana dropping two catches mean Qiana Joseph and Hayley Matthews enjoyed a productive powerplay. They needed it and they have covered half the way to the chase. Need to hold on a bit longer. 

Titas Sadhu doesn't have a great start to the match. Gets plundered for 18 runs in one over by Qiana Joseph. West Indies have a great start to the powerplay and they needed it. 

Great escape for the hosts India. Richa Ghosh played a knock of 17-ball 32 and brought them out of a tight situation. Hayley Matthews would be disappointed to see the fielding standards despite two good catches as they will have to chase a big total now. Out! What a catch by Shemaine Campbelle! Richa Ghosh was dismantling the West Indies attack all over the park and tried to dab Deandra Dottin's yorker to the third man area. Gets an edge and Campbelle flies to her right to grab the catch one handed. Richa Ghosh c Campbelle b Dottin 32(17).

Out! India are collapsing here and not many runs on the board. This time Afy Fletcher catches Sajeevan Sajana in front of the stumps while going for a sweep. Even the DRS couldn't save her. S Sajana lbw b Afy Fletcher 2(3).

Out! India is in trouble now. Mix up between Deepti Sharma and Richa Ghosh and Deepti had to pay the price. Richa opted out of the run after two steps and Deepti was way to committed for returning. Richa needs to cover for the loss now. Deepti Sharma run out (K Ramharack/Campbelle) 17(15).

Out! Oh Smriti what have you done! Just after a stupendous six over square leg, Smriti tries to ramp Afy Fletcher but doesn't get the right connect. The ball lobs in the hands of the short fine leg and Smriti has to go back. Mandhana c Afy Fletcher b Matthews 62(41) .

Fifty! Second consecutive for Smriti Mandhana. This time no support from the other end but Smriti continues to fight for India. Got life twice but she has utilised it to the tee. With a glorious cover drive she reached her half-century in just 37 deliveries. 

Dropped! Smriti Mandhana tries to go inside out but picks the fielder. Luckily, it is dropped and Smriti continues to hold an end as others batters fall from the other end. For India to put up a big score. Smriti needs to play deeper into the innings. 

Out! Afi Fletcher catches the debutant right infront of the stumps. Flatter, googly, Raghvi Bist looks to go back and misses the tuck. She was hit right in front of the sticks and the finger went up. Looked good before getting dismissed. Raghvi Bist lbw b Afy Fletcher 5(8).

Out! Big blow for India. Jemimah was shifting some momentum towards India but was unlucky to be dismissed just at the end of powerplay. Hayley Matthews got one to hit her pads and the decision ended up being an umpires call on DRS. Rodrigues lbw b Matthews 13(15).

Out! Uma Chetry falls first. Never looked comfortable in her short stay and a ball from Deandra Dottin stays low enough to clean her up. India didn't have the best of starts and Jemimah Rodrigues is in the crease now. Uma Chetry b Dottin 4(6).
