PAK Win By 2 Wickets | Pakistan vs South Africa 1st ODI 2025 Highlights: Naseem Shah, Mohammad Rizwan, Salman Ali Agha Help Green Shirts Take 1-0 Lead

Pakistan beat South Africa by 2 wickets! The crowd at the Iqbal Stadium in Faisalabad would be delighted with this result and after some jitters, the Green Shirts are home. Pakistan, with this win, take a 1-0 lead in the three-match series and Shaheen Afridi gets off to a winning start to his ODI captaincy career. Scoring 263 in the first innings, South Africa would have felt that they were few runs short. Pakistan were in control for a good part of the chase in the middle, with Mohammad Rizwan and Salman Ali Agha stitching a 91-run partnership. But South Africa triggered a bit of panic in the Pakistan dressing room by taking some quick wickets towards the end. However, the Green Shirts eventually emerged victorious and will look forward to hoping for a similar result in the PAK vs SA 2nd ODI 2025 which is on November 6 at the same venue.

FIFTY for Salman Ali Agha! The right-hander has steadied the chase well and now, will look to take his team past the finish line. South Africa are under massive pressure here. 

Pakistan are inching closer to the win now with Salman Ali Agha and Hussain Talat at the crease. The batters have formed a steady partnership here and now, Pakistan can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

FIFTY for Mohammad Rizwan! This is a crucial knock for the Pakistan wicketkeeper who has kept his team in control here. It has been a very good knock from the right-hander and now he will look to steer his side past the finish line. 

We are at the end of 32 overs and the match hangs in the balance at this stage. Pakistan still need 100 runs off 108 balls and Mohammad Rizwan and Salman Ali Agha are batting well in the middle. But South Africa would believe that one wicket here can change the game totally. 

This game is in an interesting phase now. Pakistan are 137/3 in 27 overs and have two experienced players-Mohammad Rizwan and Salman Ali Agha in the middle. The two will look to form a partnership and fight back for the hosts as South Africa continue to hunt for more wickets. 

OUT! Bjorn Fortuin has struck again and this time, he has dismissed Babar Azam! This is a massive wicket for Pakistan and the hosts are on the back foot now! Saim Ayub was on the backfoot while attempting to cut the incoming delivery and the umpire did not take much time in raising the finger. So 15 overs are done in this chase and Pakistan are in total control here. South Africa need a wicket here or else this game can slip away in quick time.

The chase has begun and for Pakistan, Saim Ayub is out there in the middle with Fakhar Zaman. Lungi Ngidi opened the bowling for South Africa and gave away just two runs off the first over. 

South Africa have been bowled out for 263! Pakistan have done really well to restrict South Africa to such a score after it seemed that the Proteas would get close to 280 or 300. Lhuan-dre Pretorius (57), on debut, had a sensational 98-run partnership with Quinton de Kock (63) and when they were going strong, it seemed that South Africa would make a big score. But as the ball grew older, Pakistan find more spin on the ball and wickets kept falling at regular intervals. Naseem Shah was the best of all Pakistan's bowlers, with three wickets for 40 runs while Saim Ayub got two wickets (2/39). Mohammad Nawaz also picked up one wicket (1/45) and Shaheen Afridi also had a wicket to his name (1/55). We will be back with the chase shortly!

The right-hander opted for an adventurous shot only to see his stumps getting disturbed.
