India tour of South Africa 2018

From Jan 05, 2018 to Feb 25, 2018
Summary

A new look Indian team will take on South Africa in a six-match One Day International (ODI) series starting February 3, 2018. India captain Virat Kohli would be looking to put the Test Series loss behind and register India’s maiden ODI series in South Africa. Also up for the grabs would be the top spot in the ICC ODI Team Rankings, as South Africa lead only by one point in the tally.

With fast bowlers doing all the talking the recently concluded Test series, spinners will be looking forward to make their point in the ODI series. New additions to the squad – Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav – would love to exploit South Africa’s weakness against spin with their wrist spin.

India have never won an ODI series at their home, and skipper Faf du Plessis would love to keep that record intact. The last time India toured South Africa, MS Dhoni was at the helm of affairs. India lost the three-match ODI series 2-0. It will be interesting to see how the top two sides in the world will compete in the next 30 days to establish their supremacy in the shorter format of the game. Will it be South Africa or will it be India – What’s your take?
