Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Rajasthan Royals Highlights And Cricket Score 14th Match - T20 Summary

End of Over : 19.5 RR: 164/3

We're done with this one. A contrast in fortunes and the mood tonight in both camps. While Rajasthan grab their first win of the season, Bangalore are still in search of theirs. Virat Kohli and his men would like to turn things around quickly. Moving on, the next game takes place on Wednesday, at 2000 local (1430 GMT), as Mumbai take on Chennai at the Wankhede Stadium. You don't want to miss that one. See you, folks!

Shreyas Gopal is the Man of the Match. He says that he is lucky and happy to get those big wickets. Once again iterates that he is fortunate to have got the wickets of Kohli and de Villiers. Reckons that the pressure was exerted by the bowlers before him and he got lucky as he picked those wickets. Mentions that the execution of the plans was done well on their side. Informs us that he is not the best person to ask about the leg spinners doing well and thinks that it is all about bowling to your plans.

Ajinkya Rahane, the Rajasthan skipper, thought that the pitch would be a 150-160 one right from the beginning and expected the dew to come in. Reserves extreme praise for his spinners, especially Shreyas Gopal. He mentions that the plan was to bowl well upfront and that Gowtham did well on that aspect. He informs that the relief of getting off the mark is immense. Signs off by saying that it was a wonderful team effort and hopes it will continue in the games to come as well.

Yuzvendra Chahal, the leading wicket-taker in the tournament this season, feels good about getting the award for the same but is disappointed about losing the game. He reckons that leg spinners do well because they have a lot of variations and even though they go for runs, they get a lot of wickets. He informs us that despite it being the fourth loss in a row, there is no point being negative because it won't help the cause.

Virat Kohli, the Bangalore skipper, feels that today's performance was more competitive but they were 15-20 runs short. He reckons that those extra runs would have played a vital part even with the dew around. Also feels that they cannot afford to drop so many chances in such kind of a game. On this being the fourth loss in a row, he says that these kind of things look bad when they happen and that they'd have liked at least a win if not two out of the four games played so far. He states that they would still like to believe and hope to get on a roll with ten games left. He does take some positives out of this game and deducts that his side played decent cricket tonight as well as against Mumbai. Hints that the tournament is not a very long one like everyone thinks it to be and to get the combination right is not too easy by just chopping and changing. He signs off by saying that turning around things will happen over time but what is in their hands is to field the best possible eleven and try to put their best performance ahead.

Bangalore needed wickets. At the start, in the middle and towards the end, but it didn't come when they wanted. The dew didn't help their cause, along with the decent total, but they still could have been in with a chance had they taken their chances towards the fag end of the game. 2 or 3 good chances went down, that too of key batsmen, which could have maybe changed the outcome. Something doesn't end up clicking for Bangalore, which becomes their downfall. Earlier in the evening, Parthiv's fifty, along with Stoinis and Ali's late hitting, saw the visitors post 158 on the board. It eventually wasn't enough for them to bag their first points of the season.

First win of the season for the team in pink. The fact that it's come in front of their home crowd will please them more and give them some much-needed confidence for the campaign. They were right on top from the moment this chase began. Buttler and Rahane took their side off to a flier and from that point on, it was smooth sailing as they pretty much set the tone for the rest to come. Buttler went on to score his fifty. After his departure, Smith and Tripathi sealed the deal, with the latter scoring the winning runs and remaining unbeaten.

19.5 6

Umesh Yadav to Rahul Tripathi. SIX! What a way to finish things off! Tripathi doesn't let it go into the Super Over and calmly gets his side over the line. Short ball and it's pulled with absolute control, flat over the mid-wicket fence. RAJASTHAN WIN BY 7 WICKETS!

19.4 1

Umesh Yadav to Ben Stokes. Scores are level now! We could have a Super Over if Umesh can hold his nerve somehow. Good save from the man at point on this occasion. Stokes cuts it square where the fielder dives to his right and stops a certain boundary.

19.3 0

Umesh Yadav to Ben Stokes. Back of a length on middle, Stokes works it in front of short mid-wicket.

19.2 1

Umesh Yadav to Rahul Tripathi. Hurries the batsman with this shorter length ball. Tripathi looks to pull but it goes off the gloves towards fine leg for a single.

19.1 2

Umesh Yadav to Rahul Tripathi. Angling back into the batsman, Tripathi hits it through mid-wicket for a double.

End of Over : 19 4 Runs 19.5: 154/3
18.6 W

Mohammed Siraj to Steven Smith. OUT! Taken this time. Umesh Yadav the man to gobble it up. Virat Kohli applauds that. Smith backs away to this fuller length ball and looks to clear long on. Can hit it only as far as the fielder who takes it well this time. A wicket finally comes, but maybe a little too late.

18.5 1

Mohammed Siraj to Rahul Tripathi. Another DROPPED OPPORTUNITY! This time it's Moeen Ali who can't hold on. Virat Kohli is living watching this. Tripathi pulls it over square leg and Ali out in the deep runs to his right. He slips while running and that's why the ball slips through his palms. One run to the total.

18.4 1

Mohammed Siraj to Steven Smith. Has that carried? Seems like it has. Yes, it has. It's a DROPPED CHANCE! Substitute Pawan Negi makes a good effort, but he should have caught it. Steven Smith mistimes his pull shot towards mid-wicket. Negi there runs in, dives, gets his fingers under it but can't hold on. Single taken.

18.3 0

Mohammed Siraj to Steven Smith. Short and banged in outside off, Steven wildly throws his bat at it and mistimes the slap to the left of the bowler. Dot ball. 7 needed off 9 now.

18.2 1

Mohammed Siraj to Rahul Tripathi. A short delivery which has been pulled away. The batsmen have run through for a single.

18.1 1

Mohammed Siraj to Steven Smith. Shortish delivery angling into the body, pulled to deep square leg for a run.

End of Over : 18 9 Runs 19.5: 150/2
17.6 0

Navdeep Saini to Rahul Tripathi. Rahul skips down the track and takes it on the full. Gets it off the inner half back towards the bowler.

17.5 0

Navdeep Saini to Rahul Tripathi. Chance of a run out! Just not Bangalore's night, it seems. Tripathi plays it to de Villiers at short mid-wicket. Smith takes off, but then turns back. AB misses his shy at the bowler's end. Smith wasn't even in the frame.

Summary

The match no 14 of VIVO Indian Premier League (IPL) will be played between Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). The match will be played at Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur. Both the teams have not yet won a match in IPL Season 12 from the three games they have played till date.

RR lost to Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in their previous game while RCB got brutally defeated by Sunrisers Hyderabad in their last match. RCB are struggling with batting woes, as the team is relying too much on their skipper Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers. For RR, they were close to victory in their previous game until the last over where they were unable to make 12 runs against CSK. Jofra Archer and Ben Stokes performed well in the match against Chennai and Rajasthan will hope that these players come out with flying colours in today's game too.
