Seiko Launches One Piece Shinkansen Watch, Limited to Just 5,000 Pieces

Japan has brought together three of its most recognisable creations in an unusually detailed new collaboration. Watchmaker Seiko has teamed up with the popular One Piece franchise and Japan's famous Shinkansen bullet trains to create a limited-edition chronograph exclusively for the Japanese market.

The result is the Seiko One Piece Shinkansen Watch Setouchi Blue Model, a limited-edition timepiece inspired by one of the specially decorated One Piece Shinkansen trains operated by JR West.

The fleet features three different One Piece-themed train designs. Seiko's new watch takes its design inspiration from the Setouchi Blue train.

The chronograph features a blue gradient dial that mirrors the exterior of the Setouchi Blue Shinkansen. A wave pattern inspired by the side of the bullet train is incorporated across the two upper sub-dials, giving the watch a distinctive railway-inspired appearance.

One Piece Details Hidden Across The Watch

The Seiko chronograph also includes several subtle references to One Piece and its iconic characters.

The Jolly Roger associated with the Straw Hat Pirates appears inside the small-seconds sub-dial. A miniature version of protagonist Monkey D. Luffy's straw hat can be spotted at the one o'clock position.

These details make the watch more than a simple anime-themed timepiece, with elements of the railway collaboration incorporated throughout the design.

Seiko Watch Glows Like A Shinkansen At Night

The detailing continues after dark. Seiko has used its LumiBrite luminous material on the hour and minute hands.

Four additional glowing elements positioned beneath the Seiko logo are designed to resemble the headlights of a Shinkansen. The railway-inspired lighting effect adds another visual connection between the watch and the bullet train.

Seiko One Piece Watch Specifications

Despite its extensive One Piece and Shinkansen detailing, the watch remains a practical everyday chronograph.

The stainless-steel case measures 39.8mm in diameter and 12.8mm in thickness. It uses a quartz movement rated at approximately +/-15 seconds per month and offers 10-bar water resistance.

A curved Hardlex crystal protects the blue dial.

Only 5,000 Seiko One Piece Watches Will Be Made

The limited-edition nature of the watch is highlighted on the caseback, which carries the One Piece Shinkansen logo along with an individual edition number.

Seiko is producing just 5,000 units of the Setouchi Blue model. Each watch comes in a treasure-chest-style presentation box featuring artwork from the One Piece Shinkansen collaboration.

The package also includes an illustrated guarantee card.

The Japan-exclusive watch went on sale through Premico in Japan on August 17, 2026, with a price of approximately $480. Deliveries are expected to begin in mid-January 2027.

The collaboration brings together Seiko's watchmaking heritage, the global popularity of One Piece and Japan's iconic Shinkansen railway in one highly specialised collector's piece.
