On August 5 afternoon, local train services on the Central Railway route in Maharashtra’s Thane were disrupted due to a technical issue. The disruption led to crowding at Ghatkopar station. The disruption due to technical issue began at 2:28 PM between Thakurli and Kalyan, affecting the down line. The problem caused a lot of trouble to people as trains got delayed. The issue led to passenger congestion. Videos of the jam-packed Ghatkopar station have gone viral. Police reported heavy crowding at Thakurli station as well.
