Fiji Shark Attack: New Zealand Influencer Henry Gibbs Shares Recovery Update After Surviving Dive Horror

New Zealand fishing influencer Henry Gibbs has shared a health update after surviving a shark attack during a diving trip in Fiji earlier this month. Gibbs said he is recovering well following multiple surgeries and expects to make a full recovery. The influencer revealed the incident in his first Instagram post in two weeks, sharing photos from his hospital stay.

Henry Gibbs Underwent Four Surgeries

According to Gibbs, the attack occurred during his first dive off the Fiji Islands. He said two friends quickly pulled him out of the water and rushed him for medical treatment.

"It is looking like I will make a full recovery," he wrote, adding that he feels "hugely grateful."

Despite the frightening encounter, Gibbs said he does not blame the shark.

He explained that he was diving in the shark's natural habitat while hunting fish, describing the attack as a case of being "in the wrong place at the wrong time."
