Four Arrested for Burglary in Delhi

Four men have been arrested for allegedly burgling two houses in outer Delhi's Nangloi area, police said on Wednesday.

New Delhi, Aug 7 (PTI) Four men have been arrested for allegedly burgling two houses in outer Delhi's Nangloi area, police said on Wednesday.

The accused have been identified as Sajid (24), Pravez (22), Wasim (21) and Kamil (21), all residents of Nangloi, they said.

On Friday, at around 5 pm, police received information regarding burglaries in two houses in JJ Colony, Nangloi area, a senior officer said.

Following a tip off, Sajid was arrested on Tuesday, he said.

During interrogation, Sajid revealed that he, his brother Parvez and friend Sachin had carried out another burglary 12-13 days ago. They had stolen Rs 3 lakh and some jewellery, the officer said.

On his instance, Pravez, Wasim and Kamil were also arrested, he said.

Sajid used the money to buy a motorbike worth more than Rs 2 lakh, the police said.

Cash worth Rs 4,05,000, a motorbike and some jewellery were recovered from their possession, they said. PTI NIT

Man held for supplying drugs in Delhi

New Delhi, Aug 7 (PTI) A 26-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly supplying drugs in the national capital, police said on Wednesday.

The accused has been identified as Manish Thakur, a resident of Bihar's Champaran district, they said.

Thakur was arrested on Tuesday from Mahawat Khan Road around 7 pm, a senior police officer said, adding that 15.3 kilograms of marijuana was recovered from his possession.

He worked as an auto driver in Bihar. He shifted to Delhi three months ago and got involved in trafficking drugs from Andhra Pradesh to the national capital.

Thakur also disclosed that he is wanted in an attempt to murder case in Bihar. He allegedly tried to kill the station master of Motihari Railway Station along with his cousins in July 2019, they added. PTI NIT

Delhi: Two Afghan nationals held for supplying heroine

New Delhi, Aug 7 (PTI) Two Afghan nationals have been arrested for allegedly supplying drugs in the national capital, police said on Wednesday.

The accused have been identified as Masjidi Feroz (35) and Jabiullah Rahimi (40), they said.

They were arrested on August 1 from Geeta Colony area and 600 grams of fine quality heroine worth more than Rs 80 lakh was recovered from them, the police said.
