Rajkot, June 10 (PTI) Four persons were killed today when the MUV they were travelling in fell off a bridge into a river near Rajkot in Gujarat, police said.

The accident occurred this evening near Kuvadava town on the outskirts of the city.

According to police, the driver of the MUV carrying 15 people lost control over the vehicle when it was passing the bridge, a police official said.

The vehicle was headed to Shankeshwar in Patan district in north Gujarat from Dwarika in Saurashtra region.

Following the accident, locals rushed to help the victims and informed the police.

The deceased and other travellers were pulled out of the MUV by the police with the help of Fire personnel.

The deceased included two women who have been identified as Madhu Parmar and Hema Jadav.

The identity of two others--both men--is yet to be established, the official said.

A complaint has been registered and further investigation is on.
