Shimla (Himachal Pradesh) [India], August 30 (ANI): The Government of Himachal Pradesh conveyed its approval for setting up three Traffic-cum-Tourist Police Stations in Bilaspur, Mandi and Kullu districts on the Kiratpur- Manali National Highway in, said DGP Sanjay Kundu, HP Police in a press release on Wednesday.

According to the press release, along with the police stations, 48 additional posts of various ranks i.e. 16 for each police stations, will be set up.

The aim of setting up these police stations is to ensure quick assistance in case of accidents on the highway and road safety will be improved.

In these newly created traffic-cum-tourist police stations, the use of advanced technology will be ensured in coordination with the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) for the smooth operation of traffic to reduce accidents.

The press release further stated that these three police stations have received funds to the tune of Rs. 3.5 crores for equipment and logistics from the Road Safety Fund of the State Government. (ANI)
