New Delhi [India], September 11 (ANI): Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge on Monday approved the constitution of committees for the upcoming Assembly elections in Chhattisgarh scheduled to be held later this year. 

Congress has formed four committees which include the election campaign committee, core committee, communications committee, and protocol committee.

"Congress President has approved the proposal for the constitution of following committees for ensuing Assembly Elections in Chhattisgarh - 2023, with immediate effect," an official statement said. 

The Core Committee includes Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, Deputy Chief Minister TS Singh Deo and five other leaders with Kumari Selja appointed as convenor.

The election campaign committee will be chaired by Charan Dass Mahant. 

"Ravindra Choubey will lead the communications committee while Amarjeet Bhagat will head the protocol committee," an official statement said.  

The 2023 Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly election is scheduled to be held later this year to elect all 90 members of the House. Congress managed to win 68 seats while BJP was able to ensure victory on 15 seats in the 2018 Assembly elections. (ANI)
