India News | Gujarat: Over ₹5 Crore Worth of Sales Recorded at Sakhi Craft Bazaar at Rann Utsav

Gandhinagar (Gujarat) [India], January 22 (ANI): The Gujarat government has promoted various initiatives to strengthen the economic independence of women across the state.
According to an official release, as part of these efforts, the Sakhi Craft Bazaar has been organised at the Rann Utsav in Kutch from December 4, 2025, to January 15, 2026. Set up inside a large dome, the bazaar features 100 stalls showcasing products crafted by women from Self-Help Groups.
Drawing strong interest from visitors, the Sakhi Craft Bazaar has emerged as one of the key attractions of the Rann Utsav, recording sales of over Rs 5 crore so far.
The craft market features stalls allocated to 330 women's self-help groups in different phases, with participants from Gujarat as well as other states across India. Visiting the market has become a memorable experience for tourists. Alongside the stalls, live music performances and a cafeteria add to the vibrant atmosphere, as stated in the release.

The market offers a wide variety of products, including handicrafts, handlooms, pottery, jewellery, home decor, and packaged foods. It offers a distinctive blend of traditional craftsmanship and contemporary designs. So far, the Sakhi Craft Market has welcomed over 4.5 lakh visitors.
Under the Rural Development Department of the Government of Gujarat, Gujarat Livelihood Promotion Company Limited organises two national-level fairs and 10-12 regional-level fairs each year to promote the marketing efforts of Sakhi Mandal members.
This year, the initiative has grown further to include shopping festivals, Sakhi markets in major malls, flea markets, Swadeshi Mela, and special arrangements for the sale and branding of Sakhi Mandal products during tourism programs. (ANI)
