Hathras (UP), Jul 11 (PTI) A 45-year-old man was arrested here on Friday for allegedly raping his 16-year-old daughter, police said.

The action was taken on the basis of an FIR lodged at Sadar Kotwali by the man's wife, they said.

The incident had taken place at the family's home on Wednesday night, said officials.

When the daughter informed her mother about it, a heated argument broke out between the couple after which the woman approached police, they added.

Circle Officer Yogendra Krishna Narayan said the girl has undergone a medical examination and the accused father has been arrested.

Further legal proceedings are being carried out in the case, he added.
