Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh) [India], September 24 (ANI): Madhya Pradesh Congress chief Jitu Patwari on Tuesday urged Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, with folded hands, to address the increasing crimes against women in the state, expressing his willingness to cooperate with the government in any way necessary to protect women.

While speaking to reporters in Jabalpur, Patwari claimed that eight rape incidents, including those involving minors, had been reported in the past 24 hours in the state.

"Eight rape incidents have been reported in the last 24 hours, including cases of gang rape and minors. I urge the state government and appeal to CM Mohan Yadav that I am ready to cooperate with you in any way you require; just ensure the safety of women in the state. I earnestly pray to CM Yadav: save the women of this state," Patwari told reporters.

He further criticised the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led state government, stating there was widespread discontent with the party across Madhya Pradesh, and that the government's failures were being overlooked.

"Today, there is widespread outrage against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) across the state. It is evident that the state government's misdeeds are continuously being glorified, while the people of Madhya Pradesh have become disillusioned with the government in just eight months. If elections were held today, the Mohan Yadav government would be ousted," Patwari said.

He also alleged that the state government had not fulfilled any of its promises in the last nine months of its rule.

"This government has not fulfilled a single promise in the last nine months. They have neither provided the promised financial assistance of Rs 3,000 a month to women under the Mukhyamantri Ladli Behna Yojana, nor delivered the Minimum Support Price (MSP) of Rs 2,700 per quintal for wheat, Rs 3,200 for paddy, or Rs 6,000 for soybean," the Congress leader stated.

Patwari also accused the Mohan Yadav government of incurring debts and misusing funds for organising events.

"The Mohan Yadav-led state government only takes loans and organises various events with the borrowed money. What kind of government is this? The government is in debt, farmers are in debt, the public is in debt, the youth are unemployed, and chaos reigns across the state," Patwari concluded. (ANI)
