Bhubaneswar (Odisha) [India], December 16 (ANI): The Odisha Government on Wednesday approved seven investment projects envisaging investment of around Rs 511.19 crore, which will create employment opportunities for 6,402 people in the state.

The approval was accorded at the State Level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA) meeting held under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Suresh Chandra Mohapatra.

These projects will create employment opportunities for 6,402 persons. It may be pertinent here to mention that SLSWCA had approved other eight projects worth Rs 1872.11 crore with employment opportunities for 3461 persons before 23 days.

Within these 23 days, the committee approved total investment projects of Rs 2, 383.30 crore envisaging employment opportunities for 9863 persons.

Presenting financial and technical details of the investment proposals, Principal Secretary Industry Hemant Kumar Sharma said that the projects were employment-intensive in the sectors like textile, apparel, paper products, renewable energy, tourism, steel downstream and iron ore beneficiation.

Chief Secretary Mahapatra directed IPICOL to have oversight on the construction and commissioning of the projects approved earlier. Concerned departments were asked to extend proactive facilitation for expeditious construction of the industries.

Chief Secretary also directed that the industries should employ the persons 'skilled in Odisha'.

The committee approved projects included the proposal of Ambattur Fashions to set up a Men's and Women's apparel manufacturing unit at Chandaka in Khorda district with an investment of Rs 51 crore and employment opportunities for over 4,700 persons.

The committee has also approved Wild Lotus Fashions to set up a garment manufacturing unit at the Chhatabar Industrial Estate in Khorda district against an investment of Rs 52.62 crore, which would generate employment opportunities for over 560 persons.

It also gave approval to Shree Banshi Luxmi Private Limited (a subsidiary of Pioneer Packaging Private Limited) to set up a new Kraft Paper unit with a capacity of 300 Ton per day in the Balasore district envisaging an investment of Rs 120 crore, which will generate employment opportunities for over 750 persons.

Indian Oil Corporation Limited also got approval to set up a 10 MW Solar Power Plant in Boudh district with an investment of 52.28 crore. The project will generate employment opportunities for over 65 persons.

The panel also gave in approval to Prachi Resorts to set up a 4-star Hotel in Bhubaneswar at an investment of Rs 63.30 crore, which will generate employment opportunities for over 85 persons.

Similarly, it gave nod to Sygma Tubes and Pipes to set up a 5,00,000 MT Tube and Pipe manufacturing unit at Rengali in Sambalpur district at an investment of Rs 51.99 crore. The proposed project will generate employment opportunities for over 60 persons.

The iron ore beneficiation plant of PTCL Infrastructure Limited got the approval for the expansion of its iron ore beneficiation plant from 1.5 MTPA to 2.5 MTPA at Barbil in Keonjhar district at an investment of Rs 120 crore, which will generate employment opportunities for over 182 persons. (ANI)
