India News | Two Killed, One Injured in Head-on Collision Between Two Vehicles in Guwahati

Guwahati (Assam) [India], November 1 (ANI): Two people including a girl were killed and another was injured in a road accident in the Khanapara area in Guwahati late Thursday night.According to the reports, two vehicles collided head-on near the footbridge. The vehicle in which the three of them were travelling, was completely damaged in the accident.

According to reports, one of the vehicles struck the footbridge under the impact, breaking through its railing and ultimately falling back onto the road.

Both vehicles were wrecked in the impact. The collision claimed the lives of Dipit Dey and Konamika Narzery at the scene.

The other two people injured in the crash were immediately rushed to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH)."Yesterday at around 3:40 AM, three patients arrived at the emergency department. Of those, two--Dipit Dey and Konamika Narzery--were brought dead by the police. The third patient, 23-year-old Neha Basumatary, sustained soft tissue injuries to her scalp and left arm, as well as swelling in her left forearm. After conducting investigations, no specific issues were identified, and she was diagnosed with a soft tissue injury. She has been discharged but can return for follow-up care on Saturday if any urgent problems arise," stated Dr Abhijit Sarma, Superintendent of Gauhati Medical College & Hospital while speaking to ANI.
