Agra (Uttar Pradesh) [India], September 14 (ANI): A person accused of attacking the police was injured in an encounter in Agra's Kheragarh area, police said on Saturday.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) West, Agra, Sonam Kumar, said, "On September 14, police received information about an individual who fired at police a few days ago. During checking, the accused fired at the police to kill. Police engaged in retaliatory fire, which injured the person."

The injured accused has been taken to the hospital for treatment, police said.

The accused involved in the firing have been identified as Satyaprakash alias Sattu, Netrapal alias Nitu, and Vinod, DCP Kumar said.

Satayprakash and Netrapal had a Rs 25000 cash prize on them. Their weapons have been seized, DCP Kumar added.

Three illegal pistols, six live cartridges, three empty cartridges, three misfired cartridges, and a motorcycle were recovered from the incident spot, DCP Kumar said.
