New Delhi, Jan 5 (PTI) Mastercard on Thursday announced the appointment of Gautam Aggarwal as division president for South Asia and Country Corporate Officer, India.

Gautam takes the mantle from Nikhil Sahni, who is assuming a new regional role within the company, Mastercard said in a statement.

With his new remit, Gautam will oversee all of Mastercard's activities across South Asia and India, including product management, engagements with customers and regulators, marketing and more, it said.

Axis Bank launches fully digital current account proposition for businesses

* Axis Bank on Thursday said it has partnered with the fintech firm OPEN to provide a fully digital current account journey for small businesses like freelancers, homepreneurs, influencers and others.

The partnership aims to offer a holistic banking experience coupled with financial tools like payments, accounting, payroll, and expense management to make business completely hassle-free, Axis Bank said in a statement.

This digital current account product will help customers save time and effort with its completely digital authentication process using PAN, Aadhaar, and Video KYC along with zero paperwork, it said.

Customers can avail over 250 banking services and claim up to 50 per cent cashback through grab-deals. All existing Axis Bank customers will also get access to OPEN's digital banking platform, which is used by over 30 lakh businesses currently, it said.
