Hyderabad, Jul 21 (PTI) A 33-year-old man was on Thursday arrested for allegedly cheating as many as seven women after marrying them, police said.

The man, who is a native of Guntur district of Andhra Pradesh, trapped divorcees on matrimonial sites. After gaining their confidence, he married them and collected lakhs of rupees, valuables and later used to abscond, they said.

The accused, who left his first wife in Guntur, is facing at least five cases in different police stations in the city and also in Andhra Pradesh for allegedly cheating women after marrying them, an official at Gachibowli police station said.

Based on a complaint lodged by a woman from the city, who was also trapped by him in similar way, a case was registered and the accused was arrested, the official said.

The accused was previously arrested in different cases, police said.
