Sena MP Says Thane Station Dilapidated, Demands Reconstruction
Shiv Sena Lok Sabha MP Rajan Vichare Friday submitted a memorandum to Railway Minister Piyush Goyal demanding immediate reconstruction of Thane station.
Thane, Jul 12 (PTI) Shiv Sena Lok Sabha MP Rajan Vichare Friday submitted a memorandum to Railway Minister Piyush Goyal demanding immediate reconstruction of Thane station.
The station is among the biggest on the Central Railway network.
Vichare, MP from Thane, had inspected the station on June 30.
Talking to reporters here, Vichare said, "The railway authorities are taking temporary measures. What is required is complete reconstruction of the station and provision of modern facilities for passengers."
He said he had found rusting iron rods and tilted pillars during his June 30 visit.
The station building, which is around 50 years old, has also sunk, the MP claimed.
