Florida [USA], June 14 (ANI): The toss for the USA clash against Ireland has been delayed due to a wet outfield at the Central Broward Regional Park Stadium Turf Ground on Friday.
As of now, the rain has stopped and the sun is shinning over the stadium. Yet the clouds remain scattered over the stadium.
The clash holds significance in deciding the USA's fate as well as Pakistan's fate in Group A. If the co-hosts manage to walk away with a victory, then Pakistan will end their campaign on Sunday against Ireland.
If the USA go on to lose the game, then Pakistan will have a chance to proceed into the Super 8. They would need to beat Ireland by a margin, which makes their Net Run Rate better than that of the USA.
From Group A, India have already qualified for the Super 8 following their hard-fought win over the USA in New York earlier this week.
The USA missed the presence of their skipper, Monank Patel, who missed out on the clash due to a niggle.
In case of a washout, Pakistan will be knocked out of the tournament as the USA will get a point. Their points tally will go to five, which Pakistan won't be able to match as they have only a game left in hand.
Ireland are also in the qualification mix as they need to beat the USA as well as Pakistan by big margins, which will help them improve their negative net run rate of 1.712.
