Pauri, May 1 (PTI) Three men, including an army jawan, drowned while bathing in the Poorvi Nayar river in Uttarakhand's Pauri district on Wednesday, police said.

Army jawan Gurudev Singh, Navin Singh and Pradeep Singh had gone for a picnic along with four of their friends when the mishap occurred, Station House Officer, Paithani, Ravindra Singh, said.

They were bathing in Poorvi Nayar river when they were swept away by its strong currents, he said.

The other friends reported the incident to police which recovered the bodies, Singh said.
