Woman Dies in Polling Booth
A 56-year-old woman died inside a polling booth in Nadia district on Monday apparently due to the prevailing heat wave like condition, officials said.
Krishnagar (West Bengal), Apr 29 (PTI) A 56-year-old woman died inside a polling booth in Nadia district on Monday apparently due to the prevailing heat wave like condition, officials said.
After standing in a queue for some time, Seikh Salema went inside the booth at a school in Kaliganj area in Krishnagar Lok Sabha seat around 9 am and fell unconscious shortly after that, district officials said.
Efforts to revive her by a woman accompanying her and poll workers inside the booth failed and she died.
District Magistrate Sumit Gupta confirmed the death of the woman.
