Will Ranveer Singh’s ‘Don 3’ Row Affect His Upcoming Film ‘Pralay’? Here’s What We Know
Despite a recent non-cooperation directive issued against Ranveer Singh by the FWICE over his sudden exit from Don 3, an industry insider has confirmed that the actor's upcoming post-apocalyptic thriller Pralay remains completely unaffected by the non-cooperation directive issued by the FWICE.
Production preparations for actor Ranveer Singh's upcoming film, Pralay, are moving forward as scheduled despite a recent non-cooperation directive issued against the actor by the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE). While industry speculation suggested the film might face delays following Singh's high-profile exit from Don 3, sources close to the development have confirmed that the project remains unaffected. Ranveer Singh’s ‘Pralay’ Delayed Amid ‘Don 3’ Row?
Reports circulating within the film industry indicate that the makers of Pralay have dismissed rumours of any production delays. Speaking to an entertainment portal, an insider clarified that the schedule remains unaffected and challenged the validity of the trade body's actions against the actor.
“Everything is in order and running as planned. FWICE’s unlawful directive has had no impact on the film whatsoever. Pralay will go on floors in August,” the insider stated.
The clarification comes shortly after FWICE issued a non-cooperation directive against Singh. The action followed a formal complaint by Excel Entertainment producers Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani, who claimed the actor abruptly exited Don 3 weeks before filming was set to begin, resulting in significant pre-production losses for the studio.
More About ‘Pralay’
Pralay is being mounted as a large-scale, high-concept post-apocalyptic thriller centred around a zombie outbreak. The project marks the directorial debut of Jai Mehta, known for his work on acclaimed web series and the son of filmmaker Hansal Mehta.
The film is a collaborative venture backed by Hansal Mehta's True Story Films, Applause Entertainment, and Singh’s own production banner, Maa Kasam Films. Because the film is a major cinematic undertaking involving extensive visual effects and action sequences, production activities, including script meetings, visual design, and action-sequence planning, are actively underway ahead of the scheduled August shoot.
The ‘Don 3’ Controversy
The dispute originated when Singh reportedly stepped away from the third instalment of the Don franchise, a project he had been attached to since its initial teaser announcement in 2023. FWICE leadership stated that the non-cooperation directive was implemented after the actor allegedly did not respond to multiple invitations to resolve the matter directly with the film body. In response, a spokesperson for Singh issued a statement emphasising that the actor holds the film fraternity in high regard but has chosen to maintain public silence, preferring to handle professional discussions with dignity and mutual respect.
