According to police, the woman was waiting for her cab in Ramamurthy Nagar when the accused allegedly used obscene language and made inappropriate remarks.
The complainant confronted the man and began recording his behaviour on her mobile phone. After she warned him that she would contact the police, the accused left the spot. Woman Speaks Out Against Harassment
In her Instagram post, the complainant described the incident and the fear it caused. "As a woman, I should be able to wait for my cab without being treated like an object or being propositioned for money. His words were intimidating, disrespectful, and made me fear for my safety."
She also urged that such incidents should not be normalised or ignored and appealed to law enforcement agencies to identify the accused and take appropriate action. The woman further called on the public to speak up against harassment in public spaces.
Following the viral social media post and the complaint, police tracked down the suspect and took him into custody. A senior police officer confirmed the action, saying: "We have registered an FIR and arrested the accused." Police have not released further details about the accused or the charges at this stage.
