The minor, a resident of the Dinhata police station area in West Bengal's Cooch Behar district, had been missing since June 18. Following a missing person complaint filed by her parents, investigators traced her active mobile phone signal to Jaipur, triggering an immediate coordination effort between state police forces and local child rights NGOs. According to senior Jaipur Police officials, a rescue team from West Bengal—accompanied by the girl’s mother—arrived in Jaipur on Sunday. Tracking the girl proved challenging as her mobile phone location repeatedly shifted between the Pratap Nagar, Sanganer, and Jalupura areas before authorities successfully pinpointed and raided the Jalupura spa centre on Monday.
Initial investigations reveal that the teenager, who had studied up to Class IX, was lured away from her hometown by an acquaintance. The youth reportedly promised her a lucrative employment opportunity in Rajasthan. However, upon her arrival in Jaipur, she was allegedly handed over to an associate identified by the police as "Karan."
Law enforcement agencies suspect the minor is the victim of an organized interstate trafficking ring that targets vulnerable young girls with false job offers. Investigators are currently tracking down the suspects, including the youth from Dinhata and his Jaipur-based contact, to uncover the full scale of the operation.
