Sambhal, March 23: A stage collapsed on Friday during the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) ‘Holi Milan’ rally in Uttar Pradesh’s Sambhal district. According to reports, the party’s Kisan Morcha leader Avdesh Yadav and others were injured in the incident. Sambhal is going for polls in the third phase on April 23. The BJP has given a ticket to Parmeshwar Lal Saini from this constituency in place of sitting Lok Sabha MP, Satyapal Saini. Meanwhile, Shafiqur Rahman Barq is contesting on the Samajwadi Party’s (SP) ticket. Lok Sabha Polls will be held in Uttar Pradesh in all seven phases between April 11 and May 19. The results will be declared on May 23. In the state, SP and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) are contesting these elections in an alliance. Akhilesh Yadav led party will be contesting on 37 seats, while Mayawati’s party will field its candidates on 38 seats. Meanwhile, three seats are given to Rashtriya Lok Dal.

The alliance has not fielded its candidates from UPA chairperson, Sonia Gandhi’s Rae Bareilly seat and Congress chief Rahul Gandhi’s Amethi constituency. There are a total of 80 Lok Sabha seats in the state.
