Authorities have imposed strict prohibitory orders across Maharashtra's Nanded district, banning public protests and agitations from September 15 through midnight on September 17. The directive was issued by Nanded District Superintendent of Police (SP) Dr Neelabh Rohan to maintain public order and security across key administrative and public zones within the city.
Scope and Implementation
The restrictions have been enacted under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), reports PTI. According to the official statement, no permissions will be granted for any kind of public agitation or protest throughout the specified duration, which commenced at 6:00 PM on September 15. - Municipal Corporation and Zilla Parishad offices
- Tehsil office, Nanded
- Statue of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar and Mahatma Gandhi statue areas
- Government Ayurvedic College and Government Medical College
- Vazirabad and surrounding municipal limits
Authorities have urged residents and local organisations to cooperate with the administration during this period and ensure adherence to the legal restrictions. Police forces remain deployed across the designated zones to monitor compliance and prevent any unauthorised gatherings while the prohibitory orders remain in effect.
