Nida Khan, one of the individuals named in the Nashik TCS-run BPO harassment case, is currently in Mumbai and not absconding, her family has said, pushing back against police claims that she is on the run. The 26-year-old is expecting her first child and was working in the sales team at the company’s Mumbai BPO unit before her suspension, according to her relatives.

Her family has also denied widely circulated social media claims that she held an HR leadership position, saying her designation was tele-caller and that an altered image misrepresenting her role has been shared online. The allegations against Khan are part of a wider case involving multiple employees accused of s*xual harassment and related offences at the Nashik BPO unit of Tata Consultancy Services. TCS Nashik Case: Accused Shafi Shaikh Allegedly Assaulted Inside Nashik Road Jail by Other Inmates, Seeks Protection.

Nida Khan in Mumbai: Family Rejects ‘Absconding’ Claim

Khan’s family told Hindustan Times that she is staying in Mumbai with her husband and has not been avoiding authorities. They said no police team has visited their residence seeking her whereabouts.

Her uncle said she was employed at the company’s Malad-based BPO unit until her suspension on April 9, and added that the family initially believed there may have been confusion over identity in the case. TCS Harassment Case: TCS Asks Employees at Nashik Office To Work From Home for Safety Reasons, Women’s Organisations Hold Protest.

The family has strongly disputed claims circulating online that Khan was part of the HR department or held a senior position. Her brother said an image being widely shared on social media showing her as “HR head” was digitally altered from her personal Instagram photo.

They said she has no connection to HR functions and was part of the sales or tele-calling team, with multiple senior layers above her in the organisational structure.

Khan is among eight employees named in multiple FIRs linked to alleged s*xual harassment, rape, and religious coercion complaints filed by women employees at the Nashik BPO unit of Tata Consultancy Services.

Seven of the accused have been arrested so far, while police have stated that Khan remains absconding in one of the cases. One FIR registered at Devlali Police Station on March 26 also includes allegations related to religious harassment.

Khan’s father said the allegations have caused severe distress to the family, stating that his daughter has been wrongly portrayed. He also said Khan’s mother has fallen ill due to the situation.

Her brother said the family initially believed there might be another person with the same name involved, but later learned that a case had been registered against her.

Khan’s lawyer, Baba Sayyed, said an anticipatory bail application is being prepared and will be filed before the Nashik sessions court within days. He added that the legal team is examining the charges and circumstances of the case.

The broader investigation began after a 23-year-old employee alleged s*xual harassment, false promise of marriage, and related misconduct by a senior colleague. The complaint also included allegations of religious remarks and coercion involving other staff members.

Police have registered multiple FIRs under provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, including sections related to s*xual harassment and offences concerning religious sentiments.
