New Delhi, May 18: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday met All Indian Congress Committee (AICC) president Rahul Gandhi at the latter's residence in New Delhi to discuss anti-Bharatiya Janata Party front ahead of 2019 general elections results. According to reports, in an hour-long meeting, the leaders discussed to bring all parties together which are against the saffron party after the Lok Sabha poll results. Lok Sabha Elections 2019: Opposition Parties Plan Unusual Post-Poll Reachout to President on May 23.

Before meeting the Congress President, Naidu met Communist Party of India (CPI) leaders Sudhakar Reddy and D Raja. He met the National Congress Party (NCP) supremo Sharad Pawar. Naidu also met BSP chief Mayawati and Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav in Uttar Pradesh's Lucknow. Andhra Pradesh CM is scheduled to meet Lok Janata Dal (LJD) leader Sharad Yadav later in the day.BJP May Fall Short of Majority But NDA Will Retain Power, Says Shiv Sena.

Naidu's efforts come at a time when Telangana Chief Minister and Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) chief K Chandrashekhar Rao is trying to form an anti- BJP and Congress front. Andhra CM himself is facing a tough challenge from YSR Congress whose chief Jaganmohan Reddy is claimed that his party will form government in the state.

The seven-phased 2019 Lok Sabha elections which began on April 11 will end on May 19. The counting of votes and announcement of results will take place on May 23. In Andhra Pradesh, voting for 25 Lok Sabha and 175 assembly constituencies took place on April 11.
