Dr Ashdin Turner, one of the panellists and a dentist by profession quoted in the report said, "Parsi boys are mollycoddled and are attached to their mothers. I will tell them to be courteous, and not be on the phone with their mothers, otherwise, it will be a disaster. They should bring flowers for the girl and not say that his mother chose the colour of the flowers."

Jiyo Parsi is a Government of India supported scheme to arrest the decline in the population of the Parsi Zoroastrian community in India. The Jiyo Parsi Scheme comprises of three components: Advocacy Component, Health of the Community Component and Medical Component. Interesting campaigns have been launched every year to raise awareness about the government-funded scheme and the offers and benefits Parsis can avail of, for instance, free IVF treatment to help couples who wish to have a child.

In 2017, the Jiyo Parsi ads, launched by the Minister for Minority Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, encouraging Parsis to marry — and marry only other Parsis — and procreate had a section of the community calling them “regressive” and “in a bad taste.”
