Just days before the premiere of his new movie The Seed of the Sacred Fig at the Cannes Film Festival, filmmaker Mohammad Rasoulof has been sentenced to eight years in prison and flogging by an Iran court. He is also subjected to a fine and confiscation of property, as announced by his lawyer, Babak Paknia.
