Lazio goalkeeper Ivan Provedel turned out as the hero of the night as the 29-year-old scored a goal in the dying minutes of the game to secure Lazio a 1-1 draw in their UEFA Champions League 2023-24 opener against Atletico Madrid. He became the fourth goalkeeper to score a goal in the UEFA Champions League.  He cancelled the goal scored by Pablo Barrios in the fifth minute of the injury time.
